A Boon for Baby Boomers - Robots to Assist Healthcare Practitioners

As our baby boomers enter into their golden years, the demand for healthcare is shooting up faster than the number of quality nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy graduates. Now, more than ever, we need the help of technology to fill in the gap.

At the Healthcare Robotics Lab at Georgia Tech, researchers there focus on developing autonomous robots as well as finding ways to improve human-robot interaction. This bunch of brilliant individuals come from three main fields: Biomedical Engineering, Interactive Computing, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. 

The result is an amalgam of their best concepts. Here is one of their creations:
