The pack may have a load capacity issue that causes the voltage to drop very low very fast. You can attempt a load test on the pack by monitoring the voltage level while applying a 2 amp load to it. You can just purchase the Bumper that contains the RCON sensor.

Try turning off the feature in the iRobot app, then power cycle your phone and activate the feature then test for runtime improvement.

If you do not have soldering skills and the associated tools, then replacing the circuit board instead of the charging MOSFETs will be a good choice.

You could use AA, AAA, C, or D cell 1.5vdc batteries or a 9 volt battery and connect the voltage between the battery and the motor using test leads with alligator clips.
