Re: Anyone converted SLOW charger (0.75A) to 230V?

I converted my original charger (22v .75a) using the same method, One capacitor and remove the blue round thing. Just upgraded to the new charger and did the same mod again, almost exactly the same! To get the parts I just cracked open another UK charger from something and it had the right 400v 47uf...

I removed the cap and replaced it with a 400v 67uf from another switchmode power supply, it almost fitted. I had to add wires to the legs to get it solder (the spacing was wider) but as it was shorter it fitted inside the case ok. I removed vr1 and the charger appears to be working ok. Going to try ...

Look at www.mini-itx.com "The tiny 100 x 72 mm VT6047 was designed to be powered by a VIA C7 or fanless VIA Eden V4 bus processor in a 21 x 21 mm NanoBGA2 package at up to 1.5GHz. When running in optimised low voltage mode, the onboard CPU delivers power consumption below one watt. A Pico-ITX p...

This goes against everything I was taught about batteries.... Its not convenient to leave it plugged in for me. I have small section of the room dedicated to charging. Every charger I own is there, but only by a 4way adaptor (so i dont plug them ALL in at once, bad thing to do). There isnt room to l...

Roomba 4000 Battery leakage

I charged up my 4000 (it seemed to take forever the first time). I used it to do a quick clean of the room (very small) that took about 10 minutes. The next day about the same, then a break for a couple of days. When I went to use it the battery was totally flat! I didnt expect much more than 45-60m...

The Box?

Oh, and a lovely funny comment when you connect a serial lead,

"dirt-cheap-roomba" is what it calls itself.

Thats about it, battery and charger are the only things included.

No.

Bluetooth USB devices operate at HCI level and require complex drivers.
If you could build the required cable (at all) it would require micro controllers and lots of code.

Sorry.

Get a BlueSmirf from sparkfun.

Ahh well, thems the breaks eh. There has to be up/down sides for evey OS, this makes up for all the Apps and cool things Linux/MacOS does that I cant in windows :p Seriously though, if your doing a major robot project its not unreasonable to dedicate a spare machine to the Roomba, and have Windows o...

www.roborealm.com This is free, you can download and use it. It works. I managed to get a motion tracking servo mount in 20 minutes or so. It has Roomba Create control plugin, but I couldnt get it to operate my Roomba (non create). I have spoken to them and they are interested in supporting the Room...

Tracking and Mapping with a webcam

Has anyone tried a ceiling mounted camera? It could easily be used to identify the round single colour shape of the Roomba (or even stick a pattern onto the Roomba to help) and give an exact location in the room. Allow the user to draw over the live image to add in virtual walls that map over the re...

Just to add to this, I recently bought a US roomba, and had it waiting at home while I looked for a stepdown to use. A helpfull friend thought they would plug it in to a 2pin/3pin adaptor to charge and play with it, not realising it wasnt a 240v happy psu. The light came on for a few seconds, then a...

Hi, firstly great work on all this. Ive only just become a roomba owner and was reading this thread with great anticipation... I was only halfway through page 1 when I started trying to guess where the "iRobot have asked me to stop" post would come :p I just assumed it would be the last po...
