ConnectR Letter

Did everyone get the ConnectR letter from IRobot telling us there is not going to be a ConnectR in the current version? Sad.

Looj on Sale WOOT!

Well the Looj experiment with IRobot apparently didn't work well as Woot is selling them for $39.99.

If anyone still has dirty gutters, now's the time to try one.

Re: Side brush help from Costco and iRobot - a little late!

JDB, The way to do this in the future is to go to the IRobot site, choose to look at your account and there will a list of registered robots with the serial numbers there. It might be under support or where it says to "register your robot". Then you can cut and paste the number into your s...

Re: Side brush help from Costco and iRobot - a little late!

HA I just came on here to post that I got a letter and people are already posting about it. As you say a bit late as it's on my Costco 550 which was replaced 9 months ago with the 560.

Check out this procedure on our WIKI section as this method has kept most of ours going for over a year now. This works well if you are very careful taking apart the CHM for cleaning the gears and do not have Vic's bearing mod or the newest style CHM that has the bearings on it. http://www.robotrevi...

Reilly call IRobot and get a replacement wheel as you are still under warranty. This is not an uncommon problem and they will send you one as they had to do for my sister.

So we have now seen (if you include the original twisted type) no less than 3 different brush groups by my count with a 4th if you count the pet series. These you link to show yellow removeable ends but the same straight bristle as I got.

Anyone care to elaborate on this?

I have personally decided with no scientific evidence just by what is posted on this board and my own experience that it's environmental. Type and composition of carpet or in the case of no carpet - type of flooring, what is used to clean them and the humidity in the air plus how much dirt at the ti...

Most of us that have the newer style CHM that was backorderd just got it in the past week. Not enough time to tell if it will have the older problems.

This is a specific problem that must have something to do with environment. I have rarely seen it, some people have it all the time. The brushes being full or the type of hair/debris can't make it's way off the brushes into the bin or onto the bin's teeth, the humidity levels can affect this too. I ...

This picture is after my 560 (by itself) did the living room for about 45 minutes. What I did was take the two brushes from the new CHM I received and put them into the old CHM that has Vic's mod. Anyone who looked at my pictures earlier in this thread can clearly see that this combination might wor...

That is probably what happened. They also tend to use people like us to "test drive" their products then they monitor these sites to see reactions. If we are giving the new products a thumbs up they will probably incorporate it into the next upgrade. We started complaining about the CHM mo...

CLEANING

I just cleaned both old and new CHM and robots. Boy anyone who doesn't like to clean the old ones is going to love the new one! One pull and all the hair is off both ends of the flexible brush. One swipe of the hair removing tool and all the hair was off the new bristle brush but it takes a couple o...

Chris as pointed out in earlier post, there appears to be a difference in the size of the left cutout on the bale wire cover. One would have to swap that if you swapped brushes between old and new I think. I did notice the red wire (upside down picture posted earlier) but I didn't realize that was d...
