Gordon, I believe it's simply iRobot making sure people purchase the proper color. The 550, 560, 562, 570, 580 and 610 are all colored black, as is the high capacity sweeper bin you list. Generally this means one of the treaded wheel modules is FUBAR. The defective one is the one that is harder to turn. I've had both wheel modules fail on my 535, and I've only had my Roomba for about 2 months. I'm currently looking at one of the already-replaced bad modules trying to figure out where...
