Make Roomba lower

Postby st33n » July 3rd, 2011, 3:56 pm

Hi,

I have a 560 and it seems to get stuck every day. The problem are my chairs. The legs are about 1.5cm high. The Roomba first rides over it, but then cant come down.

What is the best thing I can do? I already ordered the ultra soft top an lower bumper to protect my blac furniture, but I guess I would need something else.

Any ideas?

There is nothing else to do since the height is just right for the CHM to operates properly.

I can not visualize a chair with 1.5cm high legs.

you could put a strip of card board across the bottom of the bumper to make the bumper a little lower, the only down side to this is it might start thinking things like doorways are walls.

Thanks for the tips. I have been away for a while. It still seems to get stuck on my chairs. It seems Roomba used to make a small strip you could put on the lower bumper. As my Roomba was 2nd hand, it didn't come with the package.

An alternative to make Roomba lower is to make furniture higher.
Place a distance under the furnitures and the bumper can start touching "low" furnitures and the Roomba can clean under low furnitures

You can also move "low" furnitures to a corner of the room and protect them from the Roomba with a Virtual Wall. At least as long as the furnitures are not to heavy.

I think it's one thing that we need to be constantly checking as roomba owners. We'll have o declutter first before we let the roomba clean.
