535 Cliff Sensor Issue

My 535 is not working and don't give any beep code error. I turn it on and then press clean again to get it going. But it just gives one beep (not the uh-oh, just a low beep) and does nothing. So I ran the diagnostics and it appears its an issue with the cliff sensors (tests 3&4 I think). On both tests the spot and dock lights are on and stay on (the lights should only come on once you lift the robot up). I also tried the auto-advance test and it stuck at first cliff sensor test and would not move on.

I recently got the 9-beep error and replaced the sensors. It worked for about a week after that and then stopped working. So I'm thinking maybe some wiring came loose from the last repair job. But before I go unscrew the robot I thought I would come check in and see if anybody have any opinion?

Since the cliff sensors are in the same wiring harness as the two bumper sensors (you replaced) it would appear that you might have to re-visit the insides and check for crimped or broken wires.

I got a question about the Cliff sensors, does anybody know what type of IR LED it uses and where I can get them I got 4 sets of cliff senors that don't work, on each set 1-2 LEDs work, so if anyone has fixed them before please let me know

While I do not "know", but can only surmise based on extensive investigation: The bullet shaped T-1 size "lens" EVERLITE IR204-A is probably the device iRobot has built into their robots since 2002.

...and where I can get them ...

I see that Digi-Key (http://www.digikey.com) has them , or search for other sources via http://www.octopart.com .

... so if anyone has fixed them before please let me know

I have never fixed a Roomba/Scooba by using the IR204-A.
