Roomba Discovery 4210 Dust Bin Fan

Hello,

I have a Roomba Discovery 4210. The dust bin fan won't spin. I purchased a new dust bin w/ fan and the fan still won't spin. I took some 300 grit sand paper and cleaned the metal contacts that the dust bin slides into, still nothing.

Any ideas????

Although rare, it could be the motherboard that has gone bad. Try attaching a 9V battery to the dust bin contacts (on the dust bin) to check if the motor runs.

Q18 and Q35 NPN transistors are used to turn on and off the dust bin motor. Head over here for a picture of where they are located.
