Guess I'll have to get inventive... I find it funny that the first couple of weeks saw no issues. Then, it has just gotten crazy with getting itself stuck. Today takes the cake...three times all within 20 minutes.
I have a fan like that but with no openings, the roomba still gets stuck. My solution is to put the fan on a chair when I run the roomba. Not elegant but it works.

Just a silly thought to be sure, but the Roomba hates black doormats.
If I were to use black electrical tape around the base of the fan, would that keep it from pushing up onto it? Like, if I were to put tape around the diameter.
You have hit upon a nice solution. Locate a dark color (black) rubber mat and place that under the fan base. The diameter needs to be about 4 inches larger than the base.
