RoombaComm compatibility with later generation Roombas

Postby Narwhal » December 26th, 2012, 6:57 am

I was thinking about getting a robotic vacuum, and the Roomba was an obvious choice. I currently have my house semi-automated in a lot of respects, and I would like to build an interface to the Roomba that I could code into my homes automation software, I noticed there were no official SDK's so I wandered whether RoombaComm would be compatible with these later generation Roombas (7 series).

If so, would Scooba and Mint also be able to interface to the RoombaComm?
Are there any other robots I should look at which have official SDK support?

This are some of the few threads regarding the 700 series:

It is unclear what the first issue was or if the user got it to work. The second thread proved the serial port works but it is unclear if SCI (needed by roombacomm) works.

I don't think anyone has figured out if the Mint has a control interface but I doubt it would work with roombacomm.
