Bought a roomba at a Garage Sale

Hi guys this is my first post, I have recently bought 2 Roombas at local garage sales

The first Roomba that I have bought at a garage sale, The first roomba I bought was the 400 series the red one. It works ok the battery only lasts 20 mins and I have been trying to get the battery to last longer, I have taken out the battery hold the clean button down and let it charge for over 16 hours, Does it need to sit on the charger for 72 hours as some people have said?

On to the next Roomba I bought, It's a 565 Model , I don't have the exact charger for it so I have been using the charger from the older version Roomba, The 565 model needs a 22.5V Charger and I have been using a 22V charger. I'm not sure if that will make a difference? Anyways I have reset the battery/schedule as I have read about it, It has an Error 5 which I can't seem to fix I'm guessing it't a battery/charging issue from what I have read. After I take out the charger and plug it back in after a few minutes of charging it turns green, I try to start it and it's almost ready to go then turns red. I assume the battery is just dead on this one. Is there any way to bring back the battery to life?

On the 400 Red, a 72 hour charge should be attempted. If the effort pays off then you will see an increase in run time. If you do get a better run time then the same 72 hour process can be performed twice more. At the end of those efforts, your battery will be at its maximum potential.

The 500 model Roomba would probably perform better if the proper power supply was used. However, I've used earlier model Roomba power supplies when charging 500, 600, and 700 Roomba batteries without err5 complaints so you might have a defective battery. Consider visiting a Radio Shack near you and pick up a nice little multi-meter for future voltage measurements that may help troubleshoot future issues with your Roomba collection.

Will the roomba 560 Battery fit a Roomba 565 ?

The 500 model battery will fit all 500, 600, and 700 model Roombas.
