It's time to get my first robot vacuum cleaner, so I went to the local Harvey Norman (
iRobot's distributor here in Australia), and was told they were all out of Roomba 780's. When I asked when their next shipment was coming, in they said the 780's were end of life, and that
iRobot were releasing new models in April.
Has anyone else heard this? Needless to say I'm not buying a bot for the next few months.
[edit] Around this, the sales guy mentioned the age of the 780 (nearly 2 years old), and that a lot of people were buying the Navibot S because it self-emptied, and the Roboking square because it was quiet and compact. He thought the Roomba had to be updated to compete. [/edit]
