First purchase. Which one?

I'm about to buy my first robot, but there's a jungle out there...

Right now I have my eyes on the Roomba 880. But I've also looked at the 960/980
As for other brands (yes I know this is a Roomba forum, sorry) I've looked at the Neato D80/D85 and the latest "Connected"

Some people say that Roombas behaves like idiots (bad navigation system) and the Neatos have poor quality because they stop working. So it's very hard to choose and I've like 0 experience with robots.

I've no carpets, no animals (so no hair etc) and 1 bigger room and 1 medium size. Only 1 floor.
The robot must have a good navigation system and not just run around with no pattern at all.
Good quality. Battery life is not super important.

The prices in my country for the robots mentioned are:
880 - 644 USD
980 - 858 USD
960 - 912 USD

D80/D85 - 483 USD
Connected - 751 USD

Thank you in advance. =)

The iRobot Roomba 960 & 980 both are equipped with VSLAM digital cameras for navigation and are not random and clean by generating digital maps. Of the models you have mentioned the iRobot models have easier maintenance capabilities due to their modular components that can be replaced if necessary. Repair is simplified. The Roombas are more robust and reliable.

I would definitely spring for the 960/980 if you're on the fence. The VSLAM navigation is a significant additional feature.

For just two rooms I would buy the 690.
