I thought best to start a new thread to get forum members attention instead of adding to my Stubborn i7 Thread.
Fired up the i7 today after my Grand Dog left with my son to their home...the dogs hair were all over the home.
Chose three rooms to clean and I left the home.
These rooms should take about one hour plus to clean ...
So after two hours or so when I checked the robot it showed the i7 was charged almost full and returning home.
Checked 15 minutes later still the same status.
When I got home I saw the i7 was sitting on the Dock (dust bin I have a i7+) with the light blue - that is why the app must be showing returning home.
Pushed the i7 further up and the charging led came on the dust bin.
The app continued to show returning to home even though it was sitting on the dock at home - light was blue.
I pushed the clean button and it became solid red - after that no matter what I did (press that or home button or the other soft button) it stayed Red and the App showed returning home and robot charged... since it was past 7 PM Eastern so no irobot support - I opened up the base and disconnected the battery - waited a bit and put the battery on and the robot went back to normal with a chime.
I started a new clean job the i7 went back to home base two three times to recharge every 10 minutes and would clean the dust bin and return to the job (the app was showing a very good charge all the time)...
After three times it did not do that - finished the job and came to base..
All looks OK for now.
I hope this freezing of the robot and me having to take the battery out to reset it does not become a regular event - I will be keep a close eye.

I am interested how well the robot vacuum cleaner coped with dog hair?

We have a English Golden Retriever Grand Dog - sheds like crazy specially these days as he is changing from summer to winter coat....
The i7 cleans all his mess/hair very well - so when he is not visiting we can set the i7 to Automatic but when he visits (like last week for 7 days) - I had to set the i7 into 'two passes'...
Loving the i7.

FYI - After much doodling - once I reset the i7 (after talking to Robot) - Press Clean and Spot button at same time for 10 seconds - all the Gremlins went away and the i7 is working fine.
Irobot tech support was good - best part is they were confident nothing was wrong with my i7....
