It always breaks at the bottom of the "U", there is a photo in doc280's post showing where to reinforce.

Good to know when my 805 latch fails.

Glue it in there BEFORE it breaks, otherwise no good?!

Exactly what kind of foam and what kind of glue.
Need to do my 805 before it breaks.
Do you have a picture?

Thanks

It always breaks at the bottom of the "U", there is a photo already in doc280's January 23rd, 2019 post showing where to reinforce. He used epoxy, after it broke.

Any particular epoxy?
How do you confine the epoxy within the "U" until it drys without getting it all over everything?

I used a two part 30 minute epoxy, but I imagine most any epoxy will work.

I cleaned the area with alcohol.

I taped the sides, of the U, with blue painter's tape. This prevents the epoxy from running out.

I mixed the epoxy and by using a toothpick, scooped the epoxy, to fill the bottom of U.

I let it cure overnight and removed the tape.

Done

Nice instructional on how to create temporary glue fixturing.

I just shaved a piece of closed cell foam to the right size and about 1.5x thickness. Put some contact adhesive and squished/slid the foam in. Use tape to stop glue messing out the sides. Wait to dry and...

I've done 3 or 4 customers machines, but I didn't take a pic - I will next time.
