Roomba j7 lost: add landmarks/beacons?
Roomba j7 lost: add landmarks/beacons?
I have had Roombas since the beginning. I have a j7+ now. It has a problem of getting lost and wandering into other areas of our (big) house): not being able to find its nest. It navigates by vision: I keep reviewing (and submitting) my interpretation of questionable things it sees, using the app. But it still keeps getting lost. Has anyone tried putting up visual landmarks (or beacons of some sort) to help a Roomba find its way around?
Re: Roomba j7 lost: add landmarks/beacons?
I don't know of anyone using visual landmarks but I don't have mutch knowledge beyond the i7 as I never owned any of the new roombas.

Re: Roomba j7 lost: add landmarks/beacons?
My 980 supports optical virtual wall barriers.
But in many situations I have found a piece of wood, that the bumpers hit more practical (and it doesn't need batteries replaced like the virtual wall barriers do).
I doubt that 900 series virtual wall barriers would work with i7 or j7 models.
