de-icing cables

Does anyone with a looj have de-icing cables in their gutters? I'd love to have one of these things (i hate climbing up there every fall), but I'm a bit afraid of it wrapping the heater cable around itself if I were to get one. R&Ring the heater cables would take hours, and thus defeat the purpose of the robot.
