An upgrade on the battery would have been nice, like on the vr-100. I have the filter and brush from vr-100 (thank you so much fufu) and they make a huge improvement on both dust/hair pickup and sound level.

Great that the upgrade parts will be available to everybody.

Those specs say the XV-21 has a 3 hour recharge time and a 90 minute run time. My XV-11 takes about an hour to charge and is good for about an hour of vacuuming on easy floors.

wouldn't the bristle brush actually create the same problem the roomba has with hair? I'd imagine (pet)hair being stuck there instead of being sucked up.

It's nowhere near as high maintenance as a Roomba due to the decent suction of the Neato, I used to have to spend 5mins cutting hair from our Roomba brush after each run and have never had more than 2 or 3 hairs to remove from the ends of the VR100/XV-21 Brush.

Very good to see the upgrade path. I hope the UK/EU store is going to stock the upgrade parts also from the end of April.

The new model is light coloured. I think this is a bad idea when it comes to a vacuum because it will get more obvious marking on its body much more easily. Dark colours hide any scratches and marking much more effectively.

On the other hand a dark colored robot can leave marks on light colored baseboards, so which matters more? I don't care what the robot looks like it is ugly anyway.

Roomba is such a pain in the butt to clean. I've reduced my Roomba to once a week cleaning because I hate maintaining it so much. My Neato goes on every day because it so simple to clean and maintain. I may buy a Neato XV-21 to replace the old Roomba. $430 is pricey though, need to find it on sale somewhere.

I sent NeatoRobotics an email asking if the original 6 vein beater bar will be in the box as well. Will update when I hear from them.

That's very interesting information, thank you. I'm REALLY interested in the manual that will come with this as how the company will explain to the customer what brush choice should be used for what scenario's.

In that same vein, I'm assuming that the XV-21 will come with ONLY the "hepa" filter and will forgo the regular single flat layer filter entirely?

Oh, sorry, my bad. My high assumption would be to check Neato's web site between April 29th - May 3rd for the offering of the "pet brush and filter" option for current XV-11 owners. (Of course, that's what you've likely already planned on doing anyway!)
