I have been using the new Neato with this version firmware with NO issues so far! Is this the most recent firmware then? It is a huge improvement from the first Neato (which was replaced for other reasons...)

You can upgrade from Neato Vacuum Software versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.4 to Neato 2.6.

This looks like a Vorwerk number.
Vorwerk have always a differend number then Neato +1. Vorwerk SW 2.5 - 2.7 - 3.1

I don't think these guys can't tell the difference considering their previous posts. Also a VR100 Board rev is usually 113 from what I've seen from other posts made by other members. Board Rev 64 indicates it is from the current batch of latest neatos. If the picture is genuine then it is very interesting that the SW version is an exact match down to minor revision numbers of the VR100 3.1 software. You would think that the SW version be slightly different considering the lion and side brush etc... of the VR100. Either the software itself caters for the differences or the hardware differences are managed completely separately from the main software. In that case, I'm curious as to the delays in delivering the exact same software that appeared on the vorwerk in October? Maybe we're just waiting on mac compatible firmware delivery?

The green part on his pic is the LED colour and not the start button.

yeah the green on my pic is from the led light around the power button. I bought mine from the user recomtechnologies on ebay.

My XV-21 Neato allows turning the non-existing side brush motor on and off via the USB terminal interface. I'm running 3.0.17235 on board 64. Presumably then the firmware can support a side brush, even if the hardware isn't physically present. That's how I would write the code if I were doing it... managing multiple branches is extra work if they can be smartly consolidated.

I agree. It would make sense and would explain why the version number being identical. A little disappointed that devices are appearing before the update is available online though. All we can do is wait, since it is apparently not possible to obtain the software via the vorwerk site.

Many people in Germany delete 3.1 because it climbing. I've done that to.

Maybe you get a better version.

Climbing? Could you elaborate a little more? Are you referring to the rearing up of the back of the robot when it reverses from a corner? I noticed that on some of the videos.

Yes, sw 2.7 had this problem hardly.

That is the reason I remove 3.1 and replace 2.7. Now I have to paint my doors again.

I also got mine from recomtechnologies on ebay (based in Mountain View, CA). It was $299 + CA tax. It arrived at my home in Silicon Valley next day via FedEx home from Watsonville, CA.

@dtrounce, any chance of a video showing a neato in action around corners? Seeing that the firmware version is identical, I'm assuming it will be very likely to behave identically to the vorwerk 3.1.

here's just a quick clip i did. If you guys want more or better examples let me know. I can catch it when it's doing a full cleaning instead of a spot clean i had it doing. As for it climbing, I haven't had any issues with that. It's working pretty flawlessly and I'm very pleased.
