botvac d5 mapping

Does anyone think the botvac d5 will ever get a software update that includes home mapping? I know at least right now probably not sense they come out with the d7.

The robot would not only need new software, but also more / non-volatile memory to store the map. That may mean different hardware.

Forgive me but doesn't the older botvac connected have this feature? what are the internal spec differences between the connected and the d5? thanks

I am pretty sure that feature was excluded to increase the difference between the d5 and the d7, on the connected it was added afterwards with a software update. Storing the maps and the generating of the images is done server side on the neato cloud. As such I very much doubt that it will be added in with a software update.
