Botvac Connected - Can drop sensors be disabled?

Postby bigman55434 » March 1st, 2018, 12:05 pm

I have 3 of these little guys, and love them. However, I live in a one level townhouse, which has the heating vents in the floor. The vacs are getting tripped up by the floor vents, thinking they are running over a cliff, and stopping on the vent. I have no cliffs in the house, so I just want to disable the sensors to avoid the issue. Any ideas?

I remember reading that you can tape a light coloured material (i.e. piece of paper) over the sensors.
Current robots:

Roomba 560 (retired)

Tape over the sensors creates a false floor the sensors detect. Used for a number of situations on all the robots with cliff sensors. Black floors including carpet patterns are not properly detected, is the most common use.
