Botvac Connected making black streaks on walls

Postby bugmenot » August 8th, 2018, 4:19 am

My Botvac Connected is making black streaks on the lists at the bottom of my walls. I tried attaching a soft bumper like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-3PCS-Bumper- ... 1c9b450287 , but because it sticks out a bit the robot had issues navigating.

Anyone else have this problem? Have you figured out a solution?

Try something like sticking clear tape to the robot. Just beware - some tapes (not sure if this includes clear) turn into sticky, unremovable goo after a few years.

Masking tape (for painting) has the least problematic adhesive, made not to damage surfaces painted.

The adhesive in Gorrilla brand heavier duty duck tape is better than the lighter weight types, less residue, better sticking. A superior type of duck tape is called Gaffer's tape, used for theater stage electrician rigging, with less residue.

In transparent tape, scotch tape, the "magic" tape is made for repairing documents, with less damage to the material, thinner etc.
