4.2.3 update

Postby Botty » October 17th, 2018, 5:21 pm

Looks like this just became available for connected models. Anyone updated? Everything ok? Any noticeable improvements?

Nice. Going to check it out now. Must have zone cleaning option?

It’s just annotated as ‘bug fixes’ So I think the zone cleaning will be the next one.

did my 2 robots.

1st one hung overnight & i had to restart the robot this morning.
then retried the update & was done in minutes.

for the 2nd one (at work) i could not do it from home. kept giving error.
but this morning in office no problem.

maybe the update can only be started when phone/app & robot are on same wifi network
and not over cellular?.

After update, which took less than 2 mins, my D5 loses Wi-Fi connection and Android app shows it as Offline.

Followed the reset procedure and now stuck at Registering with Neato Server. Looks like they didn't do regression testing and the D5 unit will not register with Neato server and unable to continue.

Senior Network engineer here. In the past when this happens, I have to separate my tri-band wi-fi into separate SSIDs to get it to re-establish. However this time still no good. Its not a DHCP or internal Wi-Fi radio issue. It definately needs to be looked at using wire shark, and traced from unit to server.

Its upsetting that a firmware upgrade creates more problems than it solves.

[update]

After contacting Neato Chat support for my issue, they advised using a temporary hotspot on phone for getting past the stuck at Neato server registration issue. Worked like a charm. Once I got passed the stuck point, I could change the D5 setttings to connect back to my primary wifi. That worked too.

If 4.2.3 are just bug fixes, then its likely not going to major feature implementations, but more like correcting issues such as why sometimes room map was not being updated at the end of a vacuum cycle. Stuff like that.

Updates all fine here. Both robots cleaned and reported back without any issue, or noticeable difference in performance.

Same from my end. Unit worked. Only wish we had a list of exactly what these bug fixes were?

When on the charger...
Push bumper to the left and hold the start button at the same time for about 10 sec.
The Robot shuts off, and if you start it again it will be in pairing mode.
This information will also be in the app.

Mine was lost too after the update, but this did the trick.

Make sure battery is charged
Remove From Base and attempt to run by manually pressing start button.
Return to base and see if unit is now charging
If it starts charging, wait until at least 50 percent charged and try again

I'm pretty sure Neato Connected isn't supported anymore. I think the last update was a long time ago (months or even years).

After I updated my D5 it will not work/connect at all. Contacted support and told to do soft reset and hard reset, did not fix issue. Replaced battery, still it resets, green and blue lights flash for 1 minute, then green light stays solid. Can not run manually either by pressing power button. I’ve seen a few owners on here with same issue. Anyone know a fix? It’s 14 months old so the manufacturer said sorry and take it somewhere else for repairs.
