Samsung SR8849 no power

Postby zekicker » December 9th, 2016, 7:36 pm

Hi,

My robot does not power on and does not charging when on the base and the green light is on.
I can heard a clicking noise from the base I think.
I change the battery.

I didn't see dry joints from what I see.

Can you help me to investigate ?

Thanks.

Your main board is done if it clicks. Main Board was overheated because of battery charge.
90 % of all failures on the navibot's is the main Board getting overcooked

Those images is from a Navibot that click and no light in display what so ever

Look at this:

It could be a power switch, 8 MHz resonator (try to replace or add a 22-60pF capacitor as described under the video) or you can replace a capacitor CE1 ...

I have the same problem, SR8845 is in a service now. I expect that the result will be "wrong motherboard, buy a new one" - but it could be repaired with a cheap capacitor as mentioned above.

Could you solve the problem?

My SR8825 has the same symptoms. I checked the main board, no visible damages. Main switch is fine and I was able to meassure voltage on the board (voltage matches the markings, saying 3.3, 2.8 and 5V). But I don't know what else to test.

The station ticks every 1 sec and drops the voltage. Even if I remove the battery.
