Unzip, install and run Roomba status.
Go to the Menu/Settings Window and set the proper com port and baudrate (115200,n,8,1) and click serial port.
Connect to the roomba by clicking on the Connect button.
Click on the Start Button
Now you can enter the schedule commands in the text box to the left of the send button. Enter the proper commands and schedule data seperated by commas.
I don't have a 500 and have not downloaded a schedule. Hopefully this post will get you most of the way there.
