ROOMBA BLACK BOX
Every Roomba has a black box that is an onboard data logging processor. This processor is not erased when the robot is reset. This data may be valuable if one wants to know the total cleaning time in the robot’s life (mission runtime) or how long it has been charging on the Home base (total-hours-on- dock)
To access the black box Information you will need the serial port cable between the robot and computer and the software called “R3blackboxreader.exe”
1. Connect the serial port cable to Com 1. If battery is low, have the power supply connected to Roomba.
2. Run the “R3blackboxreader.exe” 3. Select “Black Box” tab and press “Check” 4. Press Copy 5. Open a separate Excel sheet and paste the data.

You will need another cable to convert TTL to RS232 to connect from a PC to the Roomba. There is a USB cable on the iRobot site for the Create robot that will work on all the Roomba models with an SCI port.matofill wrote:I have cable for USB TI Roomba conector for 4000 series and Roomba IR Scheduler , can i do something with it on 500, 600 or 700 series ???
