Placing 530 motherboard into 510

Postby Koontzy » July 16th, 2012, 5:57 am

First of all, Hi guys !
I'm new here and I just purchased my first roomba (actually two of them)
one 510 for the sweet price of 98$ and another 532 for 148$ at walmart
I'm gonna buy the irobot create cable because I want to schedule both roomba to do some work while i'm not at home but the roomba without docking station (510) bother me
is it possible to buy a 530 motherboard and replace the 510 motherboard and the charging contact so it can go straight at it when finish instead of stopping in the middle of somewhere ?
also I want to be sure if I program my 510 that its not gonna tear the place appart while dragging the charger around the room lol
edit* If everything work, where is the best place to buy cheap 530 or 535 (rfid) mobo, docking station and charger contacts
thank ahead for your infos and sorry for my poor english ;) (not my first language)

I would just use the 510 for manual cleaning and schedule the 532. On the 400 series, the bot will not start a mission if the charger is plugged in. I assume the 510 would work the same way. casino187 is a good source for parts as are other ebay sellers.

In addition to the charging contacts (with wiring and connector) you will also need a bottom plate with the openings for the charging contacts.

well actually almost every mobo for the 530 is between 70 and 90$ so it's gonna end up costing me almost the double..
its look like there is no cost effective solution other than buying another one
oh god i love thoses lill daemons lol
i'm gonna soon starting to mod them soon so i'm gonna probably be more active on the forum.
I dont want to just watch them cleaning the floor lol ;)
Arduino moding look interesting even if i've never owned any arduino module

Are the brushes spinning on that 530 ? 4 Hours is a very long run time for a Roomba even with a 4500 mAH battery.
