Roomba 700 Series + RooWifi, SCI Commands Not Responding

Postby 770robot » November 28th, 2017, 6:44 pm

I have a Roomba 700 series with a roowifi attached. I can connect to it with RealTerm but commands are not returning the appropriate response. I am trying to follow this tutorial: http://www.robotappstore.com/Knowledge- ... al/16.html

My status lights don't seem correct either.

What am I doing wrong?

Try removing and replacing the battery, then place your Roomba on the home base. Establish a connection and see if you can receive the ASCII text charging reports that are generated via the SCI once per second.

I was able to get commands to work once I pulled out the battery. An item did appear in the console although unreadable. I currently don't see any responses but I the status lights are correct.

I have managed to set the time vi SCI and I am interested in setting the scheduler. What I found was this:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19403&hilit=sci+schedule#p138728

I am confused where you guys are getting some of these numbers from, in terms of the time I don't see "168" listed in the SCI Specification pdf that I found (Edit: which I am now releasing doesn't apply to my model). I understand that 5 is Friday and 14 is 2 pm.

In terms of the schedule code mentioned on there, I can't get it to work.

The Roomba Open Interface commands have not changed since the 500 Roomba. Here is a pic of part of the two commands you need to use.

Yeah I had bad information but I got everything working like I wanted. Is there any recommended optimization I can perform on it?

You can run the Roomba BiTs program and see the actual output measurements for the motors and sensors in your robot. They are sent out over the SCI channel. Then you can see if you have any marginal components that may need to be cleaned, lubricated, or replaced.

I am now having issues getting the schedule to run, here are my commands and I see them in the roomba

#Current Time Friday 9:49 am
168 5 9 49

#Set Schedule to Work Monday -> Saturday 9:50 am
167 126 9 50 9 50 9 50 9 50 9 50 9 50 9 50

So I wait a minute, the roomba hits 9:50 am and nothing....

Edit: After further testing I believe it is because schedule can only be setup in 15 min increments thus if it isn't one of the following:
*:00 *:15 *:30 *:45
It won't run.

Edit 2: Although I still can't get an output in realterm after sending a command.

To schedule the robot to clean at 3:00 PM on Wednesdays and 10:36 AM on Fridays, send: [167] [40] [0] [0] [0] [0] [0] [0] [15] [0] [0] [0] [10] [36] [0] [0]

Are you sending the Start command [128] [168] [Day 0-6] [Hour 0-23] [Minute 0-59]
Again for schedule 128 167 126 0 0 9 59 9 59 9 59 9 59 9 59 9 59

You can check your work after sending these commands by pressing the clock button to check time and the schedule button then day button to check schedule.
