I just got the 3.3.9_003095 update! No idea what it does. The notification stopped working a few days ago and the app on iOS changed from ”Mi Home” to chinese letters? Whats going on?

always keep it connected to charger, there is already battery optimization when connected to charger

So, it wont damage the battery / reduce it life span because of overcharged?

If you are using it constantly, even if just twice a week i dont think undocking it is going to make any difference at all. If it does, it would be negligible.

jch2473 wrote:So... I purchased my Xiaomi Robot Vacuum in early July and it stopped working a few days ago. It's completely dead unless it's docked on the charger. When it's on the charger, the app shows that everything is working correctly and that the battery is fully charged. If I press the clean button on the robot or tell it to start cleaning from within the app, it makes the boot up sound and says "charging" and the app shows it drop to 85% charge. It then shows as offline for a bit and eventually comes back to show it charging from 85% to 100%. I'll let it charge up again, try to clean and get the same result. If I remove it from the charger, it dies. No lights, no sounds etc...

I'm guessing the battery is dead even though the robot/app aren't reporting any battery issues.

I've tried reboot the robot, doing the factory reset and it just goes back to the same issue. I've also tried removing and reinstalling the battery. It's running the latest firmware.

I'm hesitant to order another battery because I'm not sure if that's the issue and I can only find replacement batteries for $100 and the sites don't accept returns other than for defective parts.

Last night I decided to try setting a timer to let it auto start. When the start time arrived, it actually started up the vacuum motor and made it about 4-5 inches from the charger before dying. This adds to my belief that the battery is faulty.

Does anybody know if there is another battery pack that will fit and work with the xiaomi? i.e. one that I can buy in the United States?

Any other ideas? I've really enjoyed the product and would like to get it fixed rather than buying a new vacuum. If I do buy a new one, I'll probably get one of the Neato models which are a good bit more expensive but at least I'd have service options available.

I finally received the battery replacement for the Xiaomi and the battery replacement resolved the issue. The Xiaomi is functioning properly again.

I have a second generation roborock xiaomi robot vacuum which is working well. However, I have been unable to update to the latest firmware version since buying this 2 months ago. I have tried reinstalling the vacuum, the Mi Home app is up to date on iOS 11, the region is set to mainland and language to English.
Current version: 3.3.9_001134, latest version 3.3.9_001228,
then proceeds to updating screen and after a few seconds the "Couldn't update" screen appears.

I would appreciate any assistance

you need to have the robot in "charging" state first, then try to update firmware via app with setting region to mainland China.

I have updated from 1134 to 1228 successfully

It looks like they just enabled zone cleanup for the first generation xiaomi. I've never seen the option to do zone cleanup before. Does anyone else see this new feature. Does it work on Gen 1?

It looks like Zone cleaning works pretty well. I'm glad they enabled this feature for the first gen vacuum.

Can you share a screen shot of how that works? I don't see the option to zone clean on mine. Thanks!

I am on firmware 3194/Mainland China server. Looks like I have an advanced firmware that is slowly pushing out. I like the zone clean option. It maintains the map from the last run so that you can highlight an area and decide how many times you want the robot to pass over it. I think it's way more effective than just carrying the robot over to the area and hitting spot clean a bunch of times. I thought that it was something they could back port to the 1st gen vacuum, I'm just glad that they didn't save it for Gen 2 only.

it seems that the zone cleaning feature is on "grey" update on Mainland China server, including firmware and app plugin, since some of my friend can enjoy this feature now, while others can not.
