Yes, this is the proper way to do it. I have been using my regular vacuum to empty the robots' dust bins ever since I had the Navibot with the quick empty system.

Somebody has the english instructions?.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, but I had some troubles with finding user manual for this model. But finally I found it :D

user manual

EDIT:

I learn from the manual that this button, which you describe (located on the rear side of docking station), is for "reset" the robot and dock it "manually". It is used when your robot is fully discharged, so it is unable to dock itself or if you want to "tell" him to dock. Then you have to place the robot just before/or on the dock (I'm not sure) and press just this button for 3 sec. It will start docking/charging automatically.

From the manuals for VR5901KL/VR5902KL and VR5906KL/VR5907KL I learn some news.

The main difference between these two lines of models is the cleaning method. VR5901/02KL uses top camera for mapping the house environment. Thanks for that it is able to resume these section of house which was uncleaned (e.g. the area was too big to clean by the robot at one fully charged battery). Robot remember where he left and come back to the same spot. The bottom camera (cleaning sensor) is for detecting the corners. VR5906/07KL uses only this camera, so it hasn't have "resume mode". Whats more VR5901/02KL has build in timer. We can delay the cleaning time up to 12hr in increments of one hour (1, 2, 3,..., 12). VR5906/07KL has only delay for 2, 6 and 12 hr.
Both lines has 3 cleaning programs. VR5901/02KL has "Spiral cleaning mode", "Zig-Zag cleaning mode" (up to 6m), "Space extended cleaning mode" (3mX3m and the next...) and "Spot cleaning mode" (1 sq meter). VR5906/07KL has "Spiral cleaning mode", "Zig-Zag cleaning mode" (up to 6m) and "Spot cleaning mode" (1 sq meter).

EDIT:

I'm not sure, but I think that it is able to clean carpets up to 8mm in height.

I've had this robot for a while, but I never needed to press that button. It starts charging automatically when the discharged robot is placed on the dock. (I'm not saying that the button has no function, but I didn't encounter a situation when it was needed.)

I just wrote what I learn from manual. So what can be the feature of this button in your mind?

@Tibor

I'll explain to you even simpler. You have a "dock" button on your robot, remote control and on the docking station. All three are for docking "manually" (not automatically) - if you wish it (e.g. during the clening program you want to stop it and tell the robot to return to the docking station).

EDIT:

Could you check if it work as I describe?

I learn also, that it has "voice command". It tells you (korean) what is wrong with your robot:

"Please check wheel"
"Please empty dustbin"
"Please check dustbin" (inserted incorrectly)
"Battery is low"
"Please check roller brush"

You describe the function of the button differently in the two posts. I have tried both:
1. I made the robot run until it refused to move any more. Obviously it could not return to it's dock, so I placed the robot on the dock by hand. It started to charge automatically. No need to press the button there.
2. I started a cleaning cycle, and (with the robot in sight of the dock) I pressed that red button on the back of the dock. Nothing happened. Than I pressed the dock button on the robot itself and it returned to the dock. (I have also tried to place the robot in front of the dock and pressed the button, but nothing happened.)

So none of the above descriptions of the red button seem to be valid.

I agree that it is some kind of a reset button. I assume there are situations when the dock needs to be reset or adjusted to the robot. And this is when this button is needed. Unfortunately I could not get a decent translation from the Korean manual, so I could not read it. Anyone here speaks Korean?

Yes, you're right. This red button is for "reset" the dock. When it won't charging (automatically or manually), you have to clean the metal contacts on the robot and dock, put it on the dock and press this button.

This is a translation made by google translator (not as good as we want).

Hi piokrza! I'm stalking you it seems! J/K. Congrats on your new Roboking! Have you been putting it to work? How does it fare VS the Navibot? The way the Roboking handles chair legs is very interesting.

rofl, I like how one of the attached pictures it shows the letters 'HANDLE' on the handle.
