New whiteboard robot on kickstarter

Postby tg91478 » October 24th, 2016, 6:45 pm

I've had my eye on a little whiteboard robot called Root since seeing it in Wired magazine last spring. Today the creators emailed me announcing that they have launched the product on kickstarter. It looks like a fun way to help teach my daughter to program. Does anyone know how this compares to other products?

It's known that teenagers and younger ones are trapped in a virtual world without being aware of it. That's why we have created Roby d'Bear. This is an entertainment robot which connects mobile devices with a completely functional robot.
Robot is powered by servo motors and a controller. All the brains of the robot are neatly packaged in our own app for mobile devices. Active Bluetooth connection enables complete control of the robot.
Roby d'Bear is also available as a kit model. This enables users to build the robot themselves according to the instruction manuals and become familiar with the whole functionality of this robot. The controller is programmable and they could also program it the way they like.

Roby d'Bear is a robot which will bring kids back from their virtual worlds into reality.

The project is looking for support on kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/55 ... roby-dbear
