How old is your battery?
Is there any error code?

Error codes should be in the app.
You can start by performing a reset: Hold button for 8 sec till it shuts off.
Than switch on again by pushing the button again...

Mmmm, only thing is I’ve bought this as faulty (should’ve mentioned that earlier) so I haven’t even had the chance to connect It to the app yet? I was looking on another thread and they mentioned about a bit of software so that you can plug the D3 into your laptop..... maybe this would give me the fault code?

Did you try the reset?
Does it start up after that,... start tune sound?
Does it leave the docking after pushing the button?
etc.

you should give us more information then only the red led's!

ok, ive had a chance to have a proper look at the D3, if i perform a reset the machine shuts down then i push the power button and it fires up with the blue "i" light and green "battery light alternate flashing for about 10 secs. then the green light stays on for about 10 secs then it makes a 5 tone tune (1 being the lowest tone) 1-2-3-4-3.

the machine dosent do anything other than that.... im about to take it apart to see if the battery is giving out any voltage...

Also the red lights are both solid on after all this has happened! No flashing.... just on.
I’ve taken the battery out and I’m getting about 15v across red and black..

ive also noticed that if i slightly pull it forward off of the charger it backs itself back?? so something is working??

You can try to connect it to the app.
Install it on your phone. Push bumper to the left and hold it there together with the start button.
It should go off.
Start it up again en you should end up with a bot flashing the blue "i".
Now go back to the app and try to connect via Bluetooth. Then follow the instructions in the app to connect the bot to WiFi.
Finally if the bot is connected to the app, you might get an error message sending you in the right direction.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I tried the hard reset and it does the same thing and the blue “i” and green “battery” just flash alternatively. I have tried connecting via the app while it’s doing this but I’m not sure it’s actually in pairing mode..... I’ve also tried plugging into my computer via a usb cable but it’s saying there’s no driver on my laptop? I’ve downloded the program from a few different sources and still the same outcome? I take it everyone else’s program works ok?

You can try to reinstall the previous firmware and pray the QA state was still correct there.

This should do the trick:
1. Remove dustbin
2. Power of the robot by holding the Powerbutton until all lights are off
3. Push the bumper so the front left and and left switch are pressed and hold them
4. Power on the robot with the bumper buttons pressed and wait 10 seconds.
5. Release the buttons and wait for the robot to finish the downgrade, this will take some minutes.
6. Robot will reboot automatically with old firmware.

As we do not know what the QAstate means I would advise you to ask Neato support via the live chat function on there support site.

(I can imagine that the robot has been send to support before and if they can not fix it they mark the serial number and set the QA state to "INVALID" This prevents support to look at it more than ones if the robot is send in again by a person who bought the defect robot.)

It also might be a robots own failed self test for hw/sw. I think QA_State comes from "Quality of Assurance State".

I hope it isn’t that Neato have already tried to repair it.... as it’s on it’s way to their repair shop now!!! But it’s a possibility that they put a “stamp” on the software I suppose. I phoned Neato and they said they’ll make a exception and try to fix it under warranty (even though it’s run out).... hopefully find out soon.

can it be that you have an old battery installed? Anyway, the newer models are always 2050 and the value is better under SmartBatt Mfg Year / Month / Day, 2017,7,14
