iRobot Braava Jet M6 BOOT LOOP

Post by draggsoft »

Hi all,

I bought a broken two robots, one is completly dead and second one with strange sympthom, white light is going in circle endlessly.
It looks like it won't boot properly.

Firs of all the Mainboard is inside it's own compartment securely glued to the main chaissy with some type of epoxy. Apparently not perfectly watertight. After subtle of prying, the PCB can be released. There was huge amount of corrosion, near to voltage regulators.

Powering the board by external power source gives a proper boot.

Voltage was missing on (TPS54202) instead of 4.2v it produces +-1.7v. On the mainboard there are (at least) two main step-down converters, one is for 3.3v second for 4.2v. Voltage 3.3v is powering main CPU SMT32F303 and other STM's. Voltage 4.2v goes to Navigation/Communication board. These board has it's own step-down for 1.8v. Boot loop is a result of no communication between main CPU and Navigation board. In fact Navigation board is exactly the same as inside Roomba i7.

Hi @draggsoft

I started having the same issue as your robot with the spinning white light ring. I have it taken apart all the way down to the MB. I can see 1 steady illuminated red LED and two flashing red LEDs (1 fast and 1 slow) Can you tell me where to look on the MB for power and where to supply it if thats the issue?

Thanks!
