It's my guess that one of the TOP reasons someone looks for a blog is to solve a problem. You have no area for technical problems! Everyone is posting these under Reviews. Call me cynical; but I'd consider myself dumb if I asked the company for advice about whether my 5 year old robot is worth repairing. Of course, they will either dodge the question or say "No, you should buy a new one". I want to hear from other users.
Not that I wouldn't like a new one; the technology has improved. The price hasn't though.
Thanks for listening!

You have no technical problems area?
Re: You have no technical problems area?
IRobot does not do any repair. They will offer you discount for the current Roomba owner to buy a new Roomba. According to your description of your Roomba on this thread (http://www.robotreviews.com/chat/viewto ... 11704#wrap), your Roomba has the gearbox problem. Debris and hair got into the gearbox. You can open the gearbox and clean it. You may be able to fix it with the ball bearing mod.

Melanie,
Your first post is in the technical area, called iRobot Roomba and Scooba Chat.
Techguy pretty much summed it up fixing your Roomba.
