post 10/24/2005 machine in the wild?

Just Curious:

I've been to a few stores now, looking to swap my Discovery SE for one built after October 24th, 2005 (date of SCI inclusion), however I have not seen a manufacture date that late.
The latest I've seen is for a Scheduler of about 10/18 or 10/19 2005.

Has anyone yet purchased any model Roomba with a birthdate more recent than 10/24/2005?

Yeah, i just bought a discovery at BB&B with a build date at 11/20/05 ... the box says 2.1 on it. I went to a few stores looking for this, and it was the only one in the area that had it.

I got one made on dec 5 2005.. pretty new. However I had to RMA it after the first DAY . Brushes stopped turning.

I picked up a Discovery dated 11/11 2005 at BB&B.
I recommend getting the 20% discount coupon and going there.
Also..
you can always order from irobot...
they will probably hate that they posted the osmo info becuase all the Roomba nuts (like us) will be asking for the new models only.

As for the difference ..
i got my mom one for xmas.. it is not dated after 10-24 and other than the sticker that says this device has a hardwar software interface it seems identical.

what is the major difference with the 2.1 models?

My roomba was has a birthdate of Oct. 26, 2005.
I bought my roomba last month from HSN.

As far as the side brush...
I think they are identical..
I dont have my mom's roomba to look at and compare to mine. But I unpacked hers and cleaned it a few times before I got my 2.1.
I noticed the side brush and unless they moved a few millimeters and changed what it was made of... the brush seemed the same...

Who knows..

Some of the 2.1 upgrades did appear on pre-2.1 machines. The sidebrush was actually redesigned twice over the past year. So an older Roomba could have a 2.1 sidebrush on it.
