Roomba 561 problem

Postby PHOENIX2000 » February 23rd, 2011, 6:09 am

Hello.
I have Roomba 561 about 4 months old.
Recently became a permanent jump (flip), the sound of the engine somehow changed and I think roomba began to go a little slower, as though something in his way. Every 3-5 minutes it stops with error 2 - clean brushes.
All that was possible - clean. I removed the bottom cover and then pull out the block in which the brushes are mounted - one in which the motor is worth. There is relatively clean.

Here's the video:

If I run Roomba without a brushes, then flicks (jumped) does not vanish, ie it is clearly not in the brush. Maybe somewhere else dirt could hide? that suggest?
Thanks in advance.

PS My English is very bad, sorry :(

Don't worry just search the forums for CHM. What happens is hair gets lodged in there...

You can just open the CHM and take out the hair, but it will come back without the bearing mod...

Also make sure that the height adjustment cable i not broken. That sometimes cause the clunking sound.

Problems will develop sooner or later. Hope you've added lithium grease!

No problem. Definitely think about the bearing mod. What happens is it builds up and it can start to heat up the motors damaging those and possibly even messing up those gears. So unless you want to do this regularly, get the mod.

Since your Roomba is only about 4 mos. old, it should be under warranty. Next time that happens, if you call iRobot and tell them what message you were getting, they will send you a new CHM. Don't tell them you opened the CHM up. I've got a little collection of CHMs that I received from iRobot while my 581 was under warranty. One is still brand new in the box, which I've been saving to have a mod done. The others I open and clean every few months.
