Neato refuses to return to base

Postby zurk » June 25th, 2012, 3:06 pm

Last two cleaning cycles neato refused to return to base. no RPS or spring errors. it just stopped approx 3 feet from the base at an angle of 45 degrees. same software 2.6, no change in base location, no change in neato.
any ideas ?

Did you start the Neato while it was sitting on the base ?

normal scheduled run. was sitting on base, scheduled time arrived, undocked, cleaned 1/2 the house, refused to return to base. pushed into base manually it charged fine, undocked, cleaned the rest of the house, went back to the room the base was in, stopped 3ft (exact same spot) in front of the base at a 45 degree angle with the end of cleaning music. pushed back onto the base normal charging resumed.

Tis time for a call to Neato customer support. That is not a normal behavior.

turned out to be dust on the sensor window of the base. evidently it caused a false image to the neato which thought it was docked when it was not. cleaned the base window and its working fine again.
