Yes, I use a USB-A to Micro-USB. When the cable is connected between the 450 and a PC when you press Clean once the PC should create a COMM port.

I picked up a second 450 and a new cable. Still getting the same results. Scooba reports firmware version, battery condition, & etc. But will not take any input from computer. What terminal program are you using and what settings on the baud rate, parity and so forth are you using?

Something I failed to mention is that you will need the iRobot Scooba450 update installer program that is used to build a COM port. Send me your email (in a PM) and I'll send you a copy to install on your Win pc.
The file is an .exe type file and to send it I change the .exe to .txt so it will send to you. When you get the file, change the text from .txt back to .exe
