770 battery acid repair

Post by Stomp »

Hi
I found your page googling fiercely for a fix to this robot.. we packed it away once our kids started leaving toys everywhere and years later i found the battery leaked acid and after getting a replacement which didnt work i opened it up to have a poke around.
I fix gaming consoles etc for work but diagnosing something like this is beyond me.
Ill post a few photos up but at this stage its showing signs of life when I plug the charge cable in but those disappear straight away when unplugged.
All fuses as far as I can tell are ok the 5v reg is showing 5v battery has 15v in it.
I cleaned up the board a bit and scraped some mask off it to check the traces and they seem ok.
I cant get into diagnostic mode at all I guess its because the robot is dead when unplugged.
Other than blind poking around im not getting anywhere, I had a read through some pages on here but I either dont understand the terminology enough or it all probes ok.
Anyways can anyone help me bring it back to life?
Cheers
Adam
