Roomba 562 Pet Series Review

One of the newest models of the Roomba series of vacuum cleaning robots is the Roomba 562 Pet Series. This particular model was made to meet the needs of those who own pets or who are sensitive to allergens. The Roomba 562 Pet Series cleaner has many advanced features that make it stand out from other vacuum robots and which make it extremely easy to use, as well as effective at cleaning carpets and hard surfaces.

Benefits of Owning a Roomba 562 Pet Series

There are many advantages of owning a Roomba and the main one is that it does the vacuum cleaning for you. All that has to be done is turn the Roomba vacuum cleaner robot on and let it navigate around the room and do its job. The Roomba 562 Pet Series is also capable of cleaning carpets that have pet hairs in them and so the floors will remain cleaner at all times. The Roomba 562 Pet Series also removes dirt, dust and allergens from floors.

Using the Roomba 562 Pet Series is not limited to just carpets, since this vacuum cleaning robot can also clean floors with hard surfaces, such as hardwood flooring. The robot can detect what flooring it is on and will automatically adjust whenever necessary so there is no need to constantly watch out for a flooring transition.

Unlike other models of cleaning robots, with the Roomba 562 Pet Series there is no need to check the battery to see if it needs a recharging or not. This is because this model will automatically return and dock to its Home Base charger whenever it is finished cleaning or when the batteries are about to lose power.  The charger needs only three hours to completely recharge the batteries and with fully charged batteries the Roomba 562 Pet Series can clean up to four rooms. It is also possible to set up a cleaning schedule and if this is done then the Roomba 562 Pet Series will automatically start to clean at the set times. Up to seven of these convenient vacuum cleanings can be preset each week.

Model Features

There are many great features found in the Roomba 562 Pet Series that make it easy to use and effective at cleaning floors. No vacuum bags are necessary for this Roomba since it has bag-less bins that are large enough to collect a lot of dirt, hair and debris before having to be emptied out. Two bins come with this product and they are interchangeable with one another. There is the high capacity sweep bin and the vacuuming debris bin. The first is suitable for larger or dirtier areas and the latter is appropriate for routine cleaning. The fine filter of the Roomba 562 Pet Series collects pollen, dust and other small particles that are picked up by the vacuum.

Built-in sensors detect ledges, stairs or other areas that drop off and this prevents the Roomba 562 Pet Series from falling and damaging itself. There are also two Virtual Wall Lighthouses and these are used to setup off limit areas that the Roomba is not allowed to enter or to act as directors when the cleaner is finished with a room by sending it to the next room to be vacuumed.

With the Roomba 562 Pet Series there are several useful accessories included in the package. Among the items included are an extra bristle brush, two brush cleaning tools, two filters and an extra rubber beater brush. The extra brushes are practical to have because the dirty ones can be replaced and the Roomba can continue to clean while the dirt is removed from the brushes.

Finally, a clean carpet ...

I am a cat owner with wall to wall carpet and I find the Roomba 562 does an excellent job. Amazing to see how powerful the battery is. It cleans forever on one single charge. Unfortunately, it soon developed a home base problem, and also went through the virtual wall. Seems the latter issue proved to them that it was the robot that was at fault and not the home base. I am happy to say that after exchanging a couple of emails with the company, they quickly sent me a brand new robot and it works perfectly. Keeping my fingers crossed, but very satisfied with this company so far.

roomba 562

Love, love, love this robot! Had it just a few days, but I have 2 dogs and 2 cats with no time (or inclination) to sweep up pet hair daily. I've run the Roomba every day since I got it and works great. Honestly, it doesn't pick up 100% of the hair, but I'm satisfied with the 80% it does get and best of all...I don't have to do it! I live in a 2 story townhouse, so I run it up stairs one day and down stairs the next. I have found that I have less pet hair accumulating on the stairs and the time it frees up is awesome.

very disappointed in my robot

I'm extremely disappointed in this robot! I've had it for about 2 months, and I think this product is very overrated. Wish I would have spent my money on something else! I have 2 dogs, and it can't even handle 1 room without me having to stop it and remove the hair from the bin opening. The dog hair (not even very hairy dogs I might add) gets stuck on the way into the bin and clogs it so NO hair and NO dust can even enter the bin! Then it starts spitting out hairballs all over the floor, and I end up having to get the REAL vacuum out to clean the room. It also sweeps hair and dust up against the edges of the rugs, leaving every rug in the room surrounded by a ring of dirt and hair. I suppose if you 'pre-cleaned' the room with a REAL vacuum, the roomba might have a chance. About 2 months after I purchased this thing, it started making noise at 3 o'clock in the morning, and we weren't able to shut it up. Unplugging it and turning it off did nothing. Finally we had to go put it out in the garage so we would be able to get some sleep. It's now completely dead. The company said they will send a replacement, but WE will have to pay for shipping and handling! THEY should pay for S&H since their product is faulty. Bad business, and I would never recommend this crappy product to anyone. Anything that you pay this amount of money for should last more than 2 months, and if not, the company needs to step up and do the right thing. But not IRobot. However, for every dissatisfied customer out there spreading the word about this lousy robot, the company will lose a lot more money than they save on sticking us with the cost on S&H. Good luck with that.

562.

Mudypoz,

I just ordered the 562 and I am makeing arrangements to rent a carpet cleaner to prepare for the arrival.

I thought this was a nessary step as I would not expect the 562 to do well, since I do not clean every day.

I have a unique problem that I want to address before buying a 562. I live in an area where everyone tracks sand into all doors of the house. My dog, cats and even me are guilty. It is a daily ever ending chore. On top of that the cats fling litter on the floor so in addition to cleaning the litter box, I am sweeping the floors. I have replaced all carpeting with wood floors or laminate floors and the only carpet is a oriential rug with fringes in the Sunken living room. Will the 562 solve my problem? Ho do I manage the sunken living room problem? How does the vacuum handle things like lazy boy chairs etc?

Nice robot.Thanks for the

Nice robot.Thanks for the information.
