Re: New LG robot vacuum for 2017 uses machine learning

To tell the truth, robo cleaner producers are hardly following the current tech. From the beginning, I was defending the idea of cloud computed robo cleaning, instead of letting a poor onboard computer try to do all the job, but too bad that it took several years to surface. I believe a couple of ca...

Asus Zenbo

Seems we have a new robot in town. Asus Zenbo. Rumors says its capable to call Neato Connected for duty, not clear if it can detect dirt or activates Neato on our order. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3616760/Meet-Zenbo-Asus-reveals-599-AI-home-robot-play-kids-look-elderly.html A lon...

Re: Firmware 3.4

All this sounds like there are non-apparent variances between the models which are not detectable even by neato installer, causing some units to fail or work, thinking why neato ppl advise like "dont fix it if its working".

After registering your bot, software updates link appears. In the following page, it asks if the current sw version is 3.4 or prior to 3.4, the latter directs you to download page.

Re: Neato now excludes batteries from any waranty

While waiting for a new set of batteries, I decided to test my dead batteries, waiting in the drawer. I have turnigy accucell 8150. First tested the discharge status, at 0.1a and 0.1v, discharge ended in a second. Then run Charge with default settings: Time: off Max. Mah: 3200 Delta sens.: 5mv Temp:...

Here's a laughable comparison review by the WSJ.. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304893404579531672245326210 I do not know anything about the author of this 'review' or the site he writes. But shortly after started reading, quickly realised this text is written to to humiliate ...

Re: Neato Botvac

May be I am expecting too much, but with the current situation, I will stick with my old, good XV11. Can someone please advise me a reliable source for battery replacement ? I have been very happy with the HQRP 3500mAh Extended Battery 2-Pack for my XV-11. It has performed exceptionally well. Well,...

Re: Neato Botvac

Well, after reading some about the new neato line, wanted to share opinions, There are uncountable number of new feature requests in the forum, how many of them considered ? I guess only one, which is side brush. Of course this can be due to patent issues or costs, but other then sidebrush (and bigg...

New Neato model

is expected in september-october range. I hope they read the wish-thread throughly. Keeping in mind "signature" is a little bit "ambitious?" name for a slightly enhanced unit, do you think Neato-guys may change the D-shape too, after putting their 'last' signature?

Re: Low cleaning time on XV-21

I remembered the special shape of rubber strips on LGs. Instead of being a single piece, they made several perpendicular cuts on the strip, so several small rubber leaves instead of one big. This may also help to prevent noise, but it seems main benefit is coming from angled placement of strip on th...

Re: Low cleaning time on XV-21

Forgot to check while cleaning, but it may be possible to change brush strips with plastic strips from another brush set. I believe the noise will be much less, which is a very important factor for people living in apartments, like me. Personally, I cant live with that flapping noise anymore.

Re: Low cleaning time on XV-21

Do any of you feel that bristle brush rotates slightly harder then beater? I mean, when you turn unit upside down and try to rotate by hand. I am using an XV11 and it was giving a good 60-70 minutes with beater. For about 2 months, I am using vorwerk kit (brush+filter), and in last few runs, battery...

Re: Neato xv-21 cleans only one room

Instead of resetting, you may try changing the place of docking station first, preferably in the same room. If problem persists, move to next stage, put the station into another room.

edit. When you run neato, dont stay in front of door to watch, in order to allow it discover the exit.

Re: New Neato FW Spotted 3.0.17235

Prevent Neato from chewing mini-ends of one-side-connected USB cables. It can accidentally suck firmware update alerts. Now we want it capable of draining the firmware's itself too.
