Thanks for posting. I knew about the DDOS but I didn't realize they had also had a data breach.
Between this and the loss of their DMCA appeal, I really hope that the site doesn't get taken down. Losing that archive would be awful!

I didn't either - but those roomba combo models sold overseas definitely appear to be ecovacs vacs to me!

Re: Robot Reviews FAQ
It's definitely planned, I used to use it to monitor new posts also. The main cause of why it took so long to upgrade everything was because I had made the mistake of tightly integrating phpbb into drupal, and drupal was very unforgiving when upgrading to new versions. In the end I realized if I wai...

Re: s9+ Docking issues
I have found the i8 to be particularly finicky about docking when there are objects on the sides of the dock, or if it's not perfectly stable. For whatever reason, I sometimes just have to move the angle of it or adjust the distance of the objects on either side of it for it to work consistently. Al...

Server Migration in progress
The board has been migrated to the new server. The old server hadn't been updated in years and desperately needed to be replaced. Since everything had to be updated completely, some things may not be working 100% at the start. Most everything should work as before, although at the moment there are n...

Re: Need Neato_4.5.3_189.tgz Firmware package
Oops, you found the new server! Not that it's very well hidden, but I'm in the process of migrating everything from the old server to this one so everything is online and duplicated so the migration will be seamless! I forgot people would get email notifications when I migrated new posts yesteday. E...

Re: iRobot roomba 1/2 side brushes spins and stops vacuuming
This looks like a rebranded ecovacs deebot OZMO 600. iRobot appears to have sold it as the "Roomba Combo" a few years ago, at least in some markets. https://www.irobot.ie/en_IE/roomba-combo/R111840.html?lang=en_IE roomba-combo.png https://www.ecovacs.com/id/deebot-robotic-vacuum-cleaner/de...

Appreciate the offer!
There are plans to migrate the site to a new platform later this year. As soon as I have more information, I'll make sure to let you know.

Re: Is this site dead?
The forum is still very much alive and that is where all new robots are discussed. The rest of the site is long overdue for an overhaul and it has not been given the time and attention it deserves. I am working on a replacement, and I hope to have an update with more information in the next few week...

Doesn't appear to be, but with the release date only 4 days away I would imagine that the base model will probably be available on that date.

Re: The 980's Successor is Finally Announced: the i7
Agreed. You'd be surprised as to how much voice recognition has improved since those devices. Alexa or the Google Assistant are astonishingly accurate in understanding natural language, and they are pretty good at understanding context without requiring exact commands as past systems did. They don't...

Re: The 980's Successor is Finally Announced: the i7
Oh no, for your situation it's definitely worth it. But I live in New York, and we have no land, so we build up. I have 4 very small floors, and until iRobot conquers stairs I need a separate roomba for each floor. Voice control and scheduling are important, but smarts aren't. Each floor is small en...

Re: The 980's Successor is Finally Announced: the i7
Just bought the Costco 985. Should I return it? Yes. Er, I would, at least. Haha. It really depends on you. The i7 costs $200 more than the 985, and the bin-emptying base costs $300 more than that; so a fully loaded i7 will cost twice as much as your 985. The new bin isn't so meaningful to me, but ...

Re: The 980's Successor is Finally Announced: the i7
Just bought the Costco 985. Should I return it? Personally, I wouldn't. Remember, you aren't limited to 90 days to return a Roomba to Costco, so you have time to try it out and see if the additional features of the new models are worth the extra cost to you. Unless you are dealing with a very large...
