I always use the remotes for my robots. I cannot understand why people would prefer to get up and manually control the robot. I can tell you fact that the side brush on the vr100 leaves edges spotless. So not useless.

The wall closeness issue is important on carpet. The side brush works only on hard floors, and may fit with the wider wall clearance used in the software. Side brush is very similar to the one on vr100. Does not need to be large to be effective. In fact it works a lot better than the bigger brushes on my other robots. Mine only comes on after the unit is so full that the dustbin vacuum is ineffective. Has happened a few times as I do not regularly check.

Karcher Pros. Really quiet; small and gets into areas others cannot; well made and solid; self emptying is great; doesn't care about moving chairs etc as it is non mapping; minimal robot proofing needed; very light touch on furniture regardless of colour; possible to leave running permanently!
