Re: New Botvac Connected models IFA show 2016
Surprising fact that full-fledged Connected model lacking some software features like stats and find me. Bad thing is that Neato unlikely will provide any software update for top Connected model to close this gap. However, I suppose hardware is fully capable of taking care of these features. If we w...

Yeah, LCD screen was definitely a major Robot failure reason, indeed!

Re: Neato's Declining Customer Service?
I suppose that with such release schedules, returns because of poor manufacturing and design, only one really reliable model, called Connected, they might be out of business quite fast. And this is a first sign of it happening. Another worrisome thing is - lack of any updates to BotVac Connected wit...

Re: 980 or Neato Connected?
Neato BotVac Connected is bad in case if you would like to clean very dirty carpet. Because it doesn't detect dirt, just tries to cover the area completely. And does that better then Roomba 980. Since I usually clean up significant dirt instantly myself I barely need dirt detector in the robotic vac...

Re: NeatoControl - program for diagnostic neato robots
Just a guess... If this software is not compatible with Windows 10 you can easily get Oracle VirtualBox, install XP there and map ports to it (usb ports mapping, however requires extension pack, but this is a minor thing to do after the installation). I solved problem with my Woowwee Rovio configura...

Re: Neato Connected loosing wifi
What devices you have at home? My experience is that Android/WP/Windows devices connection is quite stable. When it comes to embedded OS based devices - it is less reliable. It could be a driver quality issue, indeed. Thus Neato have to look at it.

I turned it off by using switch and disconnected from the charger. Unluckily, it was dead when I returned.

Re: Neato repair estimate - Vision Blocked (3000)
Seems that it is easier to buy a new one with such level of service (or even from another brand). I don't have an option to send it to Extron at all. Thus I have to repair it SOMEHOW after the warranty. So far 1.5 year left.

Re: Botvac D shows error 4000
Exactly! In my case it was too early to LIDAR issue to develop (2 month, motors shouldn't be THAT bad). I got error 3000 with my D85 after BotVac being vacuuming for a while only. Strangely, solution was to return it to the charger. And that started to happen after I left it out discharged for a whi...

Re: Neato robots lifetime
Note! It is highly recommended to buy Neato robots in big yet stable stores and with longer than 1 year warranty (for example in EU it is 2 year). Then your investment is pretty safe.

Re: Neato Connected loosing wifi
I have multiple Wi-Fi access points at home as result of the evaluation of wireless performance. 2x 2.4Ghz and 1x5Ghz. This is because previously with ~15 devices online it was a problem to keep all of them connected especially if one of them use a lot of bandwidth. Now I separated all IoT devices t...

Re: Botvac Connected Lidar turret dc motor Part Number?
I ask because I suffered from all mentioned issues, luckily on warranty (in EU it is obligatory 2 year one). Every time I returned the device, upgrading to the newer version - it was improved based on my fault. :) That's why I expect to see similar case here - my D85 had error 3000, you know. My fri...

Does this one actually perform better or more reliable? Or why you disassembled the unit, BTW? Could it be some brushless motor there?

Re: Neato keeps saying open bin and push button down to on
Yes, it look like battery issue. If vacuum was used on the daily basis it might be already out of order (from 4/15 - about year old). Remember, it is NI-MH one. However, my experience says that battery can live longer than one year. But I started to notice degradation in performance with my BotVac 7...

Re: Should I buy? Neato BotVac Connected or Roomba 980
2nd month with BotVac Connected daily cleaning - so far, so good. No Error 3000 or such. It seems vacuums w/o protective tape on the screen perform better (tested? refurbished? review versions?).

Re: Is it possible for me to update botvac D85?
I would guess that new way of updating requires OTG cable and flash drive. Can't remember if I had this option "Firmware update" in my D85's menu. Do you have it?
Otherwise updates thru cable connection to PC were discontinued.
Anyway, there was no any update to D-series ever.

Re: Neato Connected / Ultra Performance filter
I would say that yes, Connected has more suction in Turbo mode, mostly because of more powerful and higher rate battery. But officially Ultra Performance filter can be used in D-series too.

Findings about quality of Neato robots
I used all models starting from BotVac 70e to BotVac Connected one now. What I noticed... 1. First 70e model was with good quality, bought early, without any screen protector on the display, however box was factory sealed and robot itself otherwise packaged as new. Suffered from this brush design fl...

Re: Has Neato fixed issues?
I think D series affected by error 3000 flaw badly. I went to BotVac Connected direction - latest model should have everything sorted out. So far, so good. Time will tell.
