very low amber/red light (Li-ion)?

Hi, any idea on this one? i put a pack with Li-ions together and it works fine in my 3 roombas. when I gave it as a replacement to my parents, it does not really work in theirs. during charging, the pulsing amber/red light is hardly visible. it keeps pulsing forever and the battery is not charged. p...

How are you coming on the testing and balancing work? Hi, this balancing is the biggest pain of all! I got a new set of cells and put a 4x3 pack together. the soldering part was done in 15 minutes - but all this balancing and top-off charging took me almost a week (I only could do it when I was at ...

I was looking at the API in detail yesterday and the output of the IRState sounds interesting: X1/Y1 ... X4/Y4 - Normalized data from 0.0 - 1.0 on each axis AND: Size1/2/3/4 - Size of the dot seen by the Wiimote (only valid in IRAccel mode) this might be interesting as it might be able to use this f...

there is a guy who has several showcases of position-tracking using the Wii Remote. Its IR-Camera-Sensor has quite good abilities to read and track infrared points - and on his website he is posting some code http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/ this might also be an interesting way to go. bu...

Hi, thanks for your answers. the 1100mAh would work fine for me as I have a limited space on hardwood to vacume. the only thing is the load which exceeds 1C. I will see how long these cells will last. the charger is interesting. it works the same like my other two on the APS. But as it was transferr...

so, one more test.
I tested one single cell on a LiPo Charger and they deliver around 550mAh.
So I guess the Roomba is discharging with around 1A - which lets them get warm - as it runs for 1 hour.

I used a second charger and it managed to get the green light :-)))

Hi, some feedback on this. I charged all parallel-packs until shutoff. I was surprised that they can go until ~4.3 but ok. then I test-run the roomba and it suddenly went off. Ok, als explainable as I don`t have the diods in yet - so one pack shut off the whole pack. I also recognized that the pack ...

Hi all, I put a new Li-Ion pack together (2cells parallel - 4 packs series). The cells were roughly the same status before putting them together. then I connected the whole pack to a LiPo Charger and it gave me only a fraction of its capacity (pack 2000mAh; charger 500mAh) my theory is, that the cel...

Hi all, I have 3 dead packs - and 3 parked roombas - and it makes me crazy. can you guys finally recommend cells with PCBs that can be used? As discussed already, mit 4-cell 1-PCB Setups does not work. I could live with the "serial problem" because the likelyness of a cell-failure is small...

more blowing than sucking? :-)

Hi all, did anyone of you also recognize the issue, that the vacuum unit itself is blowing all the dust off the ground? when it makes a turn near an area where it has never been, it blowes all around (hardwood floor). I put in some paper to redirect it upwards but it would be interesting if you had ...

ok, got it. I will order them today. the advantage of the single-cell PCB is even, that it does not have the max-V-Problem :-)

Hi, I did the same some time ago and I remember glo convincing me, not to do this :-) regarding the PCB: what are the specs of yours? I had the problem that my PCB were supposed to take only 20V max - but the charger puts 22v. and: did you manage to charge it with the original charger? my problem is...

Hi,

the 2 sensors might work for you, as long as you take "normal" light sensors. As I am still testing with this "coded" sensor, that codes the outgoing laser with a certain frequency, I can't put a second one on.

not sure which way to go will be the best at the end ;-)

Hey Joe, thanks for waking up this thread! I will post pictures on the weekend. I did some minor tests and als...

another Li-Ion test

Hi, I tested something and wanted to know some opinions. I bought 4 2200mAh Li-ions ( http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=557 ) in order to protect them, I connected them to a corresponding PCM ( http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=551 ...
