Re: 960 Battery - Replace or No?
So I bought a 960 in 2017. Less than 1.5 years later, the thing keeps dying in the middle of jobs saying "Please charge roomba" and won't return to the base. It would run for about 50 minutes before doing this. Hi Wynanala, Realize this reply is a bit late, but hopefully it might still be...

Re: New to Roomba
I just got a roomba i3+ and my main objective was to clean my living room, there is a decent sized transition i was afraid it would not get over but turns out it does. but it goes like 3 or 4 feet into my kitchen then turns around and right back into the other room. Also have the Braava on its way ...

Re: How to create rooms from the Map?
I just initiated the iRoomba 900 Series device. It is now sweeping my entire home and creating the initial map. We have a fairly open floorplan, the family room, the dining room, the breakfast area run into one another, no distinct doors nor doorways/threshholds. How do I name the rooms and create ...

Re: Roomba 980 iPhone App problem
All, Realize this thread is almost a year old, but encountered this problem today with my 960 and didn't see a solution posted....just adding what worked for me in case others experience the issue in the future: A simple reboot (on the 960 = holding down the robot's "Start" button for 10 s...

Re: Battery Question
The best Lithium pack for the R3 Roomba is made by Lithium Power Inc. The pack power control board provides the normal over/under charging safety and also provides internal individual cell balancing. Very few vendors offer the cell balancing function. The Lithium Power pack is rated at 4400 mAH. Ap...

iRobot Home App v4.0
Anyone else running Version 3.5.1 who hasn't updated to 4.0 yet having issues with your app on iOS? Maybe it's just coincidence, but since 4.0 was released, I'm having issues with 3.5.1 exhibiting periods of unresponsiveness for me; as in when you open the app, let it load, and then hit "Clean&...

Re: Any suggestions
Part of the problem Dave is that we're dealing with two systems here: the Sweeper and the Vacuum. If you can narrow down the issue to one of those systems it will help in the troubleshooting (unless it's both obviously).

Re: Will robots derail my plans for hardwoods in the kitchen
I guess I don't see the problem; the robot will either fit under your cabinets or it won't. The only way the robot gets stuck is if the height of the toe-kick is not uniform...i.e. a section of the toe-kick is tall enough to allow Rosie underneath of it, then constricts to trap her. Even then, that ...

Where is the picture hosted rotorwash; on a local drive or the cloud? If I remember correctly, if it's hosted in the cloud, you have to post using the insert URL command.

Re: Ticking noise when charging
Vic7767 has a procedure for testing batteries on his website https://www.vic7767.com/is-it-my-roomba-or-my-battery/ that includes a slight recharge of the battery by connecting it directly to the power supply outside of the bot. While his procedure is illustrated using a 4XXX battery, I used exactly...

Re: New Roomba S9+ & Braava M6
I am somewhat ambivalent about the new design.... The round shape is a plus in tight quarters, but corners have always been Roombas' Achilles Heel IMO; I've used my canister vac to pre or post-treat corners from Day One. The 30% wider brushes should allow the s9 to cover more ground in a shorter per...

Re: roomba 614 error 2 constantly
If it does turn out to be a contaminated gearbox, I highly recommend Vic's modded gearboxes with sealed cartridge bearings: https://www.vic7767.com/ It was the single best investment I made in my 560. While the bearings themselves can become contaminated over time, they are much more resistant to co...

Re: Roomba 980 error 17
I don't understand the physics of it as well as you obviously do RTC, but that makes sense. All I know is that early-on in my Roomba ownership experience, the 560 wouldn't dock. It was either iRobot CS or someone from this forum that made me aware of the IR issue. My Homebase was located right next ...

Re: Battery recommendations
I second the Lithium Power Inc recommendation: https://www.lithiumpowerinc.com/roomba-980.html
Had one of their batteries in my old 560 and was very pleased with the cost/run time/longevity.

More info: Photo May 18, 1 41 20 PM.png If I remember correctly, incandescent light bulbs emit quite a bit of IR. I know it was recommended to not position the 5XX/6XX/7XX series Home Bases in close proximity to light fixtures with incandescent bulbs...but haven't seen that warning with the 8XX/9XX ...

Re: Roomba 960 Max Square Footage
I think that 75 minutes number is intentionally conservative; I get 90 minutes per charge consistently from my 960 and have seen a max of 110 minutes. Photo May 18, 1 06 35 PM.png In my environment (100% hard surfaces), single-pass with no edge clean left a noticeable amount of debris behind...in fa...

Re: Roomba 960 getting stuck under things. Fixes?
Did someone say wall mounted toilet? Photo May 18, 12 42 30 PM.jpg The problem with modifying your bot to avoid one obstacle means it is likely to get stuck under something else just a little bit taller. Better to modify the object environment instead. I don't know what model you had previousl...

Re: Any suggestions
@CarsonDave
as leonicholson inquired, is it picking anything up?
Are the CHM brushes turning and the vacuum motor running?
If so, Does the dust bin have debris in it and is the filter capturing debris from the vacuum suction?
