The bag full indicator didn't come on. There was a hole the size of the opening to the back of the bag. When I took it out, and squeezed it, it filled in. I'm sure if I waited for a few more days, it would have filled up and the LED would have come on.

The cleaning performance is on-par with the other robotic vacuums I have run. It keeps up cleaning the house quite well. We have NO doubts about it now. We both think it's the right choice for our home. In fact, my Fiance finally fell in love, and named her "Kasey the Karcher", ROFL.

I was quite shocked when she said named it this afternoon.

Impressive...i like the brush patent - 'no build-up at the ends' sounds great! :D

btw I wonder about all those edges and corners - you say nothing about them, did you?

I run the Dyson every other weekend. It does pick up debris left behind from the Karcher (No robotic vacuum replaces an upright). The Dyson gets under the couches/furniture and edges. I don't see the edges/corners dirtier with the pet hair. That doesn't mean that it's picking them up. I honestly can't tell. It doesn't have a side-spinning brush, so it's not going to clean the edges/corners.

But, then again, no robotic vacuum cleans the corners well, including the Neato.

Well, at least I don't have to empty the dust bin, tap out the filter, and clean the brush as often as yours, let alone worry what's going to break down.

A little off topic but I pressure washed my deck last week with my Karcher electric pressure washer! I kept thinking how cool it would be to have a robotic pressure washer.

I bought the pressure washer at Wally World a couple years back and forgot it was a Karcher. It works pretty well for a cheap electric pressure washer. It also has that nice yellow color!

ROFL!! That would be cool! A high-pressure Robocleaner. :)

Wonder if they plan on making a robotic lawnmower..

I disagree, we haven't vacuumed our new house once, we just sweep the edges of the hard floors every couple of days before "Rosie" runs and that's it! (prolly wouldnt even do that it it were a VR100)

My Neato never did edges and corners as close and good as my Roomba.

That's what a broom or swiffer is for (at least until we non-Germanic countries get Side-Brush equipped Neato's). 8)

I like the idea! A Scooba... but with attitude!

Also off topic, anybody else tried a Karcher Window Vac? Brilliantly cool idea that works really well... if only that too could be automated/robotic for doing my large patio windows!
Karcher window vac... also in yellow!

OMG. We love our Karcher! I clean the brush every 2 weeks and check the bag every month. That's it! It simply works great! There is no hair buildup on the brush ends. It focuses in the middle of the brush, which is easy to clean.

Hey Chris, I was wondering can you show us some pics of the Karcher Bin and filter setup - I was wondering how much maintenance the filter needs compared to say a Neato or Roomba which need a good clean with a vacuum cleaner at least once a week?

but you still need to clean brush every X...still there is hope that the new Navibot S with comb-part in the base inlet had resolve this *issue*

I sure can when I get home from work. But, I have to tell you, I just performed the bi-weekly cleaning on the Karcher last night. Not sure if my Fiance is going to run it today or not (She is in charge of starting the Karcher when she leaves for work). So, it might look clean. ;)

Every bi-weekly, I remove the brush, and remove the hair, which takes a couple of minutes and very easy with the grooves. I then remove the filter and wash it. That is it. It's not a HEPA. It's a plastic-like screen mesh which is easily cleaned/washed. I also wash the bottom cover. This takes me less than 5 minutes.

Every month, I check the home base bag to see if I need to replace it. it's been lasting a little over a month for us. I then take the top off of the robot and I give it a good blowing out with compressed air. It's prone to collecting a lot of dust inside, just like the Roomba/Neato.

Don't get me wrong, there is still maintenance that should be performed. It's just a lot less frequently than the competitors (After every run).

Peter,

Yes I still need to clean the brush out. One can surely hope the Navibot S will take care of this for us! That would be a welcoming feature for sure!! Time will tell.
Chris

Im confused, where does the karcher store all the debris it picks up?

There is a cover. Where you see the filter, it has some space to store the debris.

yes, it can capture 0.2 litre = 0.05 US galon of dust in it's collector - to compare: Roomba 780 = 0.3 l, Navibot SR8855 = 0.6 l, Navibot SR8980 = 0.3 l, Neato XV-11 = 0.66 l, LG Hom-Bot = 0.4 l

Can I just say that Chris does have a couple of high-maintenance pets... The cleaning Chris prudently does on his RC3000 every two weeks, I - without pets - do maybe once every 6 or 9 months or whenever I can be bothered! That includes cleaning the brush and the internal dust filter (since it cleans itself pretty well every time it empties)! A bag change for me is probably every 3 to 4 months.

Yeah, the insides do coat with fine dust (although nothing like as bad as my Navibot or Trilobite), but I've never bothered taking the top of the robot off to clean it: The RC3000 doesn't have any delicate lasers, cameras, IR/optical sensors or microswitches in there to get gunged-up... all 'obstruction' sensing is done by a simple pair of magnets over reed switches which really aren't bothered by a thin coat of dust.

Honestly Chris, judging by how sparkly clean your RC3000 is in the photos above, I think you put too much effort into it!
