Here are the answers that we received from the manufacturer Moneual:
1. Mapping system: we use 3D Gyro-sensor and Accelerometer. Most of the robot vacuum cleaners who have a
camera are not really using their camera as main source of route planning or pattern designation. Rather, it is used for correcting their poor
dead-reckoning mapping system. Moneual is also doing some research with cameras and image recognition, and possibly will offer such a system in future.
2. We have tested the cleaning efficiency according to the IEC60 standard, our MR7700 (R750) is able to give 70-80% coverage.
3. Our IR cliff sensor is very sophisticated, and it is able to detect carpets and changes in height of the floor.
4. Three level-vacuum power is changed automatically as robot detects surface of the floor as well as their condition and will adjust automatically.
5. Schedule function is embedded, of course, and the user can set time of cleaning.
6. The cleaning time depends on how large is the area to clean. MR7700 is as fast as Roomba (30cm/Sec) and will cover the similar area at the same time. However, in repeated cleaning, our 4th generation LiFeO4 Battery has an advantage of rapid re-charging, which will take only half of the time it takes for Roomba (with Ni-Cd battery) and 1.5 times faster than Li-Ion batteries.
