Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Hi, I have a question about dustbin construction of the topic models. How the suction feature works? Is it only front suction, or front and rear? Question is made especially for the users. Thanks.
Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
This is how i see it.
The suction is done on the upper side of filter only.
look at the picture, then you see the vacum mouth.

Also i have a different dust bin.

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Ok, thanks. I think that you tell about clean air which leaves the filter. I was thinking about dirty air. It is only one way - from the front, or from the back of dustbin too, where the dust goes to the filter?
"This part" - it is vacuum inlet for quick empty by conventional vacuum cleaner in SR8855.

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
So I wonder if the dirty air is sucked up from the front only (from this comb, which protect main brush from entangling pet hairs) or from the back of th dustbin too?
Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
To be honest, I wasn't paying attention to that kinds of details, when I had the Navibots.piokrza wrote:Hi, I have a question about dustbin construction of the topic models. I think the bottom part of the bin is for debris that are brushed into the bin by the brushes. I can't see on my pictures if there was any air suction in that part of the bin. But here are my photos of the SR8845: And one photo of the SR8830: By analyzing the position of the dust, my guess is that the lower part of the bin has no vacuum in it. Otherwise the dust would gather around the air outlet (where the vacuum is made). Since the dust and debris is just sitting around, it probably has no vacuum there at all.
I hope it answers your question.

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
So, from the rear side, there is not suction?
Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
That's right, the lower compartment has no suction at the back. (But I can't say it for 100% sure.)piokrza wrote:So, from the rear side, there is not suction?

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
OK. I have to correct myself a bit. But first let me tell you my experience about the quick empty solution on the SR8830. It did work perfectly for me. Unlike the lady on the video, I could empty even the filter area with a regular vacuum cleaner through the Quick empty door.piokrza wrote:Hmmm...Tibor wrote:(But I can't say it for 100% sure.)I ask, because in one of the Tango video I saw that when madame remove the filter from the dust container, there (in filter compartment) was sth like gap through all HEPA filter compartment. Take a look at that here at 1:17.
And this memory makes me think, that you could be right. There must be some connection between the upper and lower compartments of the dust bin since the suction through the Quick Empty outlet can clean both spaces at once.
May I ask why this tiny bit of information is so important?

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Does this QuickEmpty hole clean the HEPA filter too? From this video, I can't seen thisTibor wrote:OK. I have to correct myself a bit. "Unlike"? So how?
Yes, there is. It is why this emptying hole is divided into two parts. And this memory makes me think, that you could be right. There must be some connection between the upper and lower compartments of the dust bin since the suction through the Quick Empty outlet can clean both spaces at once.
My whole house is carpeted, so I think that if there is no suction, but only brush which scrubs the carpet but not sucks, then it will not work good with sucking up small pollen. I don't want a robot like Roomba 5XX with "old" two chambered dustbin, where one of these is for picking up by only brush and the second for vacuuming. I would like to get sth like Roomba 5XX with AeroVac bin. It sucks dust directly from brush to the ALL dustbin, not small compartment/fissure, which clogging very fast.May I ask why this tiny bit of information is so important?
Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
I could clean both compartments with the regular vacuum through that door. The quick empty door wouldn't make much sense if I had to remove the whole bin to finish cleaning that way.piokrza wrote:Does this QuickEmpty hole clean the HEPA filter too? Unfortunately we only have one piece of mid size carpet in the house (and a few small ones), so I don't have too much experience with carpets. All I can say is that I have seen quite a bit of fuss from the green carpet in the dust bin. (Probably a bit more than in Roomba's bin.) But I can't say if it suck the pollens out better than the Roomba.piokrza wrote:My whole house is carpeted, so I think that if there is no suction, but only brush which scrubs the carpet but not sucks, then it will not work good with sucking up small pollen. Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
I ask Samsung Electronics and they tell me:
"Total intake air is filtered. HEPA filter is for the filtration of small particles of dirt from the air intake."

To me, this seems irrelevant to your question.piokrza wrote:I ask Samsung Electronics and they tell me:

Me too. I asked did the ALL dust which comes from main brush is SUCKED to the dustbin. Their response is not satisfactory for me.

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Guys,
Mine is navibot light. but having similar construction (not exactly though).
I have a question: Do you see dust stain around the rubber lips on the robot (rubber lips that is intended to mate with slots on blue surface of dustbin)?
I suspect that dust has gone into the electric motor directly, without going through the dustbin and filter.
To me, this may cause premature motor failure.
What's your opinion?
Many thanks!

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Yes, I saw that in all my Navibots after long time of use. If the filter compartment and filter itself in dustbin are not packed with dust at all, then it could be sth wrong. Maybe filter need to be cleaned or changed for new one?

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Thanks Piokrza!
I read the thread about an owner in Italy who were not being granted a warranty as Samsung claimed that the motherboard failure was due to excessive dust trapped inside the main unit.
But I think this dust trapped is due to design fault at Samsung, that the sealing between dustbin and main motor is leaked by poor design, since day one.
I hope he/she sees this thread.
Thanks!

Re: Samsung Tango/Navibot dustbin
Also, it may be caused by dust which escapes when you open the full dust bin.
