Elite Utmark
Elite Utmark
Hi
I'm looking for a robot vacuum cleaner as a backup cleaner on wooden and tiled floors (already have a handheld vacuum cleaner and a human cleaner). So don't want to spend hundreds of dollars but also don't want to buy something that is only going to last 3 months.
There is a special deal for a robot vacuum cleaner called Elite Utmark offered by BDirect in Australia. RRP $749 offered for $249. Ive done a google search for reviews and cant find anything about it. Has anyone trialled this, are there any reviews available? Thanks

Did you buy the Utmark?
It is available again through OZSale and I'm wondering if it is worth it.
Thanks!

Re: Elite Utmark
I bought one for Xmas and you do have to move power
Cables and move some minor obstacles which
You would have to do any way with a normal
Vacuum - overall for hard floors it is excellent
We named him bob and he does a great job
Buy one i am unsure of other makes but the
UTMARK 500 is sensational you still have
To do some small areas but bob does all of the
Floors in the house - we have ceramic tiles and floorboards 10 out of 10
So he gets a workout everyday

Hi, did you buy one of these in the end? I just ordered a x550 from ozsales.com.au for $230 with free delivery and will give it a spin when it gets here. Cant find any reviews but it looks alright. My main concern is replacement parts when needed, such as filters and brushes etc. Cant see where to get these from?
Also, I am unsure if it will automatically move from room to room to do the whole house whilst I am out, or does it only do the room that it is based in? If anyone can answer me this it would be appreciated....otherwise, i will let you know when I get it.

Re: Elite Utmark
Hello all. I got one from 00.com 229 free delivery. We have called ours Mrs Goody. Best thing I have bought in years. I haven't got the old vacuum out in 5 weeks now as Mrs Goody does an outstanding job. Watch out for rugs with tassels, cables etc. I was also wondering about spares,i looked on Ebay and there are none. Anyone know where to go for parts? It does go from room to room seems to know when its done the whole room then heads off to next. You'll also find yourself watching it all the time, its better than watching TV. Brilliant invention.
Re: Elite Utmark
I'm loving my utmark 500, but unable to find spare part :ie side brushes and filters. No information or contact info. in manual or on box.I have never had a product like it before. All Internet searches have been fruitless. Do other spare parts work like the samsung or iroomba? Of course their filters wouldn't work. I would appreciate any info. on this. Thanks

Re: Elite Utmark
Hi, we have just received our X500 that we purchased from oo.com.au for $229 with free delivery. We have yet to use it as it needs a full nights charge. However, the reviews I have seen and comments from others seem favourable. I too was a bit concerned about spare parts i.e. brushes and filters. I searched the internet and found this :
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/5Set-5PC ... 93188.html
I have ordered now as it takes about 25 days to Australia with the free shipping option. The brushes are said to last about 30 days with regular use and it came with one spare set so should all be good. Hope it works as well for us as it appears to work for others!

Aliexpress.com
I accidentally left my virtual wall on top of my combustion fire and it melted. I found spare parts including virtual walls for the Utmark elite X500 on this website.
Yay

P.S I love my utmark robotic vacuum. Best purchase ever. I put it on when I'm dropping the kids to school and by the time I get back the kitchen floor is spotless after the mess the kids make at brekky time.
Re: Elite Utmark
Many thanks Andydownunder, I have just ordered some brushes and filters.
Re: Elite Utmark
Quick up-date. Just received brushes and filters for Utmark. 5 sets of brushes and 4 filters (add says 3 filters) free delivery $21.00. Brushes are better quality than what it came with. Very pleased.
Re: Elite Utmark
Hey,
Has anyone worked out how to get the X500 to go from polished floorboards to a carpet mat?
The carpet is fully hemmed, no tassels, etc but it just gets stuck and it's a very old [ie. flattened over the years] carpet.
Otherwise, so far, it's brilliant - all I need now is a robot mop....................

Hi
Just a quick note to suggest users steer well clear of Utmark products. We got an XT550 robot vacuum cleaner a couple of weeks back and have had nothing but trouble with it. Constantly breaks down, gets caught on standard furniture like bedposts, wardrobe edge etc, barely sucks anything up. It reports an error code, I do what it asks and then it breaks down again 5 minutes later. It has never once completed a clean and made it back to base.
The worst part is that I'm struggling to deal with their customer service. I need a refund for a unit which does not perform its function - I just keep getting emails telling me to clean lenses etc. They asked me produce videos and I have sent 13 separate clips of various failures. The response was the same: clean the lens. aarrrggghhhh!
Terrible cleaner, abysmal sevice. AVOID UTMARK AT ALL COSTS! I will post a link to these clips once I get them on youtube - including one of the Utmark passing over a tiny down feather 3 times with no success!

Gee, we have 2 dogs [and numerous snakes and lizards, but they don't really produce any noticeable dust] and we get clumps of dust within days of vacuuming [the "old fashioned" way; ie. without a robot
] and our X500 does a great job - better than I expected, especially for a "cheapie".
I must admit it could use a white cane when it comes to getting back to base and it has gone down the stairs twice [split level house; only 5 steps] and I think the stairs problem is due to a carpet mat right next to the stairs that it backs away from when it can't get onto it; resulting in it going down the stairs whilst reversing.
I don't think cleaning the sensors on the front of the robot is gonna fix that issue!............
Regarding getting a refund; did you buy online using Paypal?
I always try to use Paypal for these sort of 'uncertain' purchases as they'll refund the money if the item doesn't do as described [after you've contacted the seller and they've refused to be reasonable].
Just a thought..............

Re: Elite Utmark
my experience was not good. my daughter bought the robot and has had no problems. She paid $229. I tested it here and asked her to buy me one as well. It was on a popular online specials site. It broke down with various error codes and the overseas customer service person said to send it back, they could not replace it but would return my money. I did and am still waiting 2 months later for the money back. In the meantime, encouraged by my daughter's experience I bought another one for $199 from a reputable Sydney store. Now that one has broken down - this time the unit wont charge - I tested it on my daughters charger and its the unit which is faulty, the charger is fine. So just a warning re my experience with this. My main concern is that it is a no name and therefore I feel I have nowhere trustworthy to turn to. I am giving up with this product. I am hoping the Sydney store will assist as I am just past their returns policy time frame (14 days and I bought the unit a month ago) and their site tells me in this case to deal with the manufacturer - I have no clue who that is, except it is made in China. I cannot find anything online. Nor do I have any confidence I will receive satisfaction. Anyway its Sunday night and I hope I get some satisfaction tomorrow when I phone the store.

Re: Elite Utmark
It really doesn't matter what Country you happen to be in, your purchasing Contract is ALWAYS with the person/company from whom you bought the product: It is their responsibility to resolve any issues so far as the law allows in your Country. Yes, the manufacturer or your Credit provider may be behind/support that cost of repair or replacement, or may voluntarily "step-in" to resolve any issue(s), but your Supplier (the person/company you bought it from) cannot absolve themselves of their responsibilities just because they can't be bothered with the hassle. They sold you the product - it IS their problem if the product doesn't work, whatever they may initially claim/say/hide behind. Be persistant.xxx wrote:...I feel I have nowhere trustworthy to turn to.

Re: Elite Utmark
We have a x550 (our second one - oo.com.au replaced the first when it got stuck in spot cleaning mode), however I cannot fathom how to use the bloody remote. The user guide (not a manual) is minimalistic to say the least. Anyone had any joy with it - or found a support site.
Re: Elite Utmark
Hi, just wondering if anyone else experiencing the same problem with the Utmark x550?
It has been working fine for a week collecting lots of dust from under beds and sofa's. But it was vacuuming on our carpet and just kept deciding to go 'home' all by itself. Now, I know it is supposed to do this if it is full or needs recharging but no errors are occurring. I have checked the filters and all is fine, even on my tiled floor area it is going well for a short while, then off home again.
Currently I am washing the filter out in the hope that may help, hopefully not hinder the situation.
Will Ozsale send me a new one? I haven't contacted yet and will see how it goes over the weekend but how disappointing, it was looking so good for a short while there.

Ringy:
"I cannot fathom how to use the bloody remote. "
It's pretty straight forward; what is there you don't understand?
Or is the problem that it's not responding to whatever button you are pressing?

Panda from Russia
In Russia, this robot has a commercial name Panda. Many users are not spoiled by robots purchased at a low price of this robot and satisfied, very many reviews that are generated by bots for money. Unfortunately the robot has low maintainability and parts of China to the highest bidder. Batteries are the very poor quality and fail within 1 year, that's the picture of one of the users of the inner world of the robot which is jammed wheel.
